Scholarship Fund
Awards are given to students graduating from Hartnell College who plan to continue their education at a four-year college. In 2002, the club began annual solicitations for our appeal for monies to assist the recipients of our scholarship awards.
The Salinas Woman’s club is registered with the California Department of Charitable Trusts and is exempt under Section 501 (c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions to a specific charitable fund may be claimed as a tax-deductible donation.

Roselyn Olivo: first recipient of the Ruth Andresen Scholarship
Roselyn is the first in her family to go to college. She majored in Political Science and Administration of Justice and plans to become a lawyer. Her hard work resulted in her being on the President’s List in both Spring and Fall semesters of 2023 and 2024.
In addition to maintaining her grades, Roselyn participated in Hartnell’s Women’s Cross Country and Track and Field events. She also managed to find the time to volunteer with the Boys and Girls Club and Hartnell Soccer and Track and Field Summer Kids Camp. Additionally, Roselyn worked at Panda Express and was involved with Hartnell’s TRIO program.
Roselyn has been accepted at the University of California Berkley, UC Santa Barbara, Cal Baptist University, University of the Pacific, Azusa Pacific University and Santa Clara University. She is finalizing her decision on where she will attend.
